| Description: | Green Acres Baptist Church is the largest megachurch in East Texas and we have heard they give the most money to missions of all the churches in the Southern Baptist Convention. In the last few years they have built a very large facility in their historical location on Troup Highway in Tyler Texas as well as a large complex near 346 off of Broadway in South Tyler. The South Tyler Church has a baseball field, walking track and a large man made pond stocked with fish. Green Acres continues to expand as the large scale and multiple ministries make it hard to resist not to atleast come and visit once. Unfortunately many times business men join the church to assist in gaining new business customers and for all the networking opportunities it presents with the leaders in the community. Of course there is not a lot a church can do about this and this is generally the nature of the situation in a church this size. The political influence this church excercises sways judges, political candidates, and business success. |
