Tyler Texas Chevrolet
- How many people who live in Tyler have not been annoyed by the King Chevrolet commercial? Jack King comes on the commercial and yells “King Chevrolet, downtown Tyler” It’s stuck in everyones memory from childhood. I was driving by their old place the other day and it’s no longer there. Where did they move too?
Sure the ad is annoying but I remembered it which obviously was Jack’s intention. I wonder where the King Chevrolet business is now. It’s not where I remember it being. Come to think about it I haven’t heard a Jack King commercial in awhile. Is he still doing car commercials?
Tyler Texas has several Chevrolet dealerships and many more chevrolet truck dealers. It makes since, we do live in Texas. There are a million trucks on the road and a few of them are Chevrolet die hard fanatics. Jack King Junior has the most memoriable Chevrolet commercial on TV and it has become a bit of a joke to imitate his slogan, “King Chevrolet, downtown Tyler!” I am tied between Chevrolet and Ford as far as my favorite truck. They both have good qualities but Ford has a better tractor engine in their larger sized trucks. For the smaller trucks I might go with a Chevrolet.

The latest update I have heard is that Jack King Jr. is in partnership at Crowne Kia in Tyler. I heard a radio commercial just the other day where Jack says, “This is Jack King Jr. and I approve this message.” While I was getting a home financed my loan officer told me that Jack King Senior sold the dealership because of something not readily known and Jack apparently started over with the Kia dealership as a partner. Is this about right? Someone else may know better but I don’t think there will be any more “downtown tyler!” commercials. Those were the good ole days.

Good post
King Chevrolet was bought out by Crown. You’re right–he’s no longer downtown–now he’s out on the loop. :o(
Found your page looking to see if anyone had uploaded some video for Jack King, Jr.’s famous “DOWN-TOWN TYLER!” thing. Hahahahahaha, nice running into another person who thinks it was over the top.
