Tyler Junior College

2 02 2008

Tyler boasts to have the largest junior college in the entire state and the college has been here longer then even my own parents have been alive. This college is big enough to get all your basics done without the need to worry if they will transfer to a 4 year University. Unlike a lot of junior colleges I have seen this one is more like a 4 year university with all the extra curricular activities going on. They have an outstanding basketball and football program with several players moving on to play in the NBA and NFL. Justin Johnson from Iowa is one recent athlete that transferred from TJC to go on and play for Iowa. This clip of him making a comeback from what appeared to be a loss for Iowa is remarkable.

For students out of the country or in the USA TJC represents an affordable Texas college for getting through the basics and then you can go ahead and transfer to a 4 year university and save yourself quite a bit of money. Tyler Junior College has more classses then some 4 year universities and a host of continuing education classes. Check the junior college out when you get a chance as they have a lot to offer. I am an alumni student myself and went on to a 4 year university to receive my bachelors like many others like me.
